Ann Inouye, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Ann Inouye, Psy.D. is a Yale- and Brown-trained clinical psychologist who completed her internship at STRONG STAR, a nationally recognized program focused on treating post-traumatic stress and related mood and stress conditions in service members.
Dr. Inouye is dedicated to creating a confidential, open, and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment or stigma. She understands that seeking care while in uniform may come with concerns about potential professional repercussions. With this sensitivity in mind, she prioritizes trust, discretion, and a strong therapeutic alliance.
Dr. Inouye recognizes that Special Operations Forces operators endure intense experiences and may often suffer in silence. Her work focuses on normalizing these reactions, reducing shame, and supporting growth, resilience, and values-driven change. She understands that change is challenging, and that operators are accustomed to meeting difficult challenges directly.
Dr. Inouye uses a holistic, evidence-informed approach and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD, Nightmare Rescripting, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She also has extensive training in psychedelic-assisted therapy models and offers preparation and integration sessions for individuals seeking to understand or process psychedelic experiences within a clinically grounded therapeutic framework.
In her spare time, Dr. Inouye enjoys spending time with her husband, an Army psychiatrist, and their children.
