Shannon Blakey, PhD
Licensed Psychologist
Shannon is a licensed psychologist who provides tailored, evidence-based treatment for individuals who want to make meaningful changes in how they respond to difficult emotions and major life transitions. She specializes in posttraumatic stress, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, drinking more than intended, and navigating the transition from military to civilian life. Her approach is supportive and action-oriented. She works collaboratively with clients to identify the patterns that are keeping them stuck and practice concrete strategies for responding differently. Her goal as a therapist is straightforward: understand what matters to you, identify what is getting in the way, and get to work. She’s licensed in North Carolina and authorized to provide teletherapy (virtual sessions) to clients located in 43 PSYPACT-participating states. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, live music, volunteering with The Honor Foundation, and learning something new through a book or podcast.
