Jason Cozort
Phase Two- Candidate
About Me
Jason holds an M.Div. from Regent University and has worked as a Chaplain resident at the VA Hospital, serving veterans. His experience at the VA Hospital showed him gaps missing from his seminary training (in the area of counseling) that inspired him to pursue further education to journey well alongside veterans in their experiences. Jason embraces the philosophies of Carl Jung and Henri Nouwen, adopting the role of a “wounded healer” by utilizing his past traumatic experiences in the military and life to better understand and assist others in similar circumstances.
Jason is currently in his second year of the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) Program at Regent University—serving clients at Regent’s Psychological Services Center (PSC), providing assessment batteries, therapeutic services, education, and outreach to the local community.
Jason also serves as the Director and Chaplain of the Virginia Beach Chapter of FaithRXD. This nonprofit organization connects faith and fitness by offering free workouts and Bible studies at local CrossFit boxes. We have a vision to reach the military community by partnering with command Chaplains at installations in the Hampton Roads area to provide spiritual resilience through faith-based programs.
Jason Cozort is married to his best friend and wife, Chloe. They have a 15-year-old son from Jason’s previous marriage. Before entering the ministry, Jason served in the military as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician, serving on various teams and deployments worldwide. Prior to going into ministry Jason worked as a Project Manager and Director of Business Development in the environmental industry.
