Adam Milano LCSW, DSW, ED.M, MSSW

Adam Milano is a licensed clinical social worker currently licensed in North Carolina, Virginia, and Colorado. Adam's commitment to the SOF community comes from his experiences working as an active duty Behavioral Health Officer/Social Work Officer with Army Special Operations at Fort Carson and Fort Liberty. In addition to one-on-one therapy he also offers organizational and individual consultation services. As a clinician, Adam is committed to building a strong therapeutic relationship and doing his best to learn and understand exactly what brings each of his clients to therapy. He is a strength based provider who invites the opportunity to work with those who have never gone to therapy before or are still not so sure if therapy is right for them. He specializes in working with service members, undergraduate/graduate students, and organizational leaders/executives. 

His practice includes EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy. As a consultant, Adam provides insight and runs workshops on person centered leadership, connection, and peer support. Outside of his work as a therapist and consultant, he is currently on the Clinical Faculty of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Inaugural Teaching Faculty with the Professional Program for Mental Health in Higher Education at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Previous professional experience includes creating and piloting the first embedded behavioral health position with the U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School, supporting PhD students at Harvard University, guiding outdoor trips with Overland Summers, and serving as a Civil Affairs Specialist in the Army Reserves. He holds a Doctorate from the University of Southern California, Masters from Harvard University and Columbia University, and a Bachelors from Middlebury College.
