Eric Guendner, MA, LPA, LCAS
Eric Guendner is a skilled clinical psychologist who specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Eric is a certified therapist with the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification and Emory University Prolonged Exposure. He uses mindfulness and practical skills to help his clients build better lives. Eric has done a lot of research, including studying the effects of DBT skills groups on PTSD symptoms and assessing Borderline Personality Traits with the MMPI. He has shared his findings at conferences and published his work in respected journals.
Besides his clinical work, Eric teaches introductory psychology courses at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He has also developed and taught DBT courses to train other therapists and provided in-person training to master's and doctoral level clinical interns. Eric has helped the Department of the Navy create a mental health life skills program for Sailors and their families. He is active in professional organizations like the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy and the Society for Neuroscience.
Eric's military service includes roles in the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion and 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, and he was an instructor at the Amphibious Reconnaissance School at NAB Little Creek. He has been deployed to OIF and OEF and was medically discharged due to injuries received during combat operations.
