Eva Shinka LISW-S

Eva has over 25 years of experience providing therapeutic support to individuals, couples, and families, with a special focus on military and veteran populations. She has worked in both the public sector and government, including at the Walter Reed Military National Medical Center, the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, the Office of Family Policy at the Pentagon and the Naval Construction Battalion Center. Eva also completed an internship at the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic and has been in private practice since 2019.

Eva's clinical expertise includes treating traumatic brain injury (TBI), anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, life transitions,  and stress management. She is particularly skilled at supporting active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. As a retired military spouse of 21 years, Eva brings a unique understanding to her work as she has experienced multiple moves and deployments.

Using an eclectic approach, Eva integrates a variety of therapeutic interventions, including Master level Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, to meet the individual needs of her clients.

Eva holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University and has been an active mentor and volunteer in various community organizations. Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, cycling, reading, and spending time with her family and dog, Woody.
