Katie LaRoe, LCSW

Kathryn LaRoe, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She graduated from University of Southern California with her Masters in Social Work. Kathryn is a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional II (CCTPII). She has worked with military and Special Operations communities since 2008 in various capacities including therapy and coaching.  Her specialty is treating PTSD/Trauma, mood disorders, attachment and relationship concerns.  She additionally specializes in preparation, integration and harm reduction for individuals seeking out states of expanded consciousness through use of meditation, flow state inducing activities, or plant medicines/psychedelics.  Kathryn is passionate about helping individuals make sense of their experiences to increase understanding and implementation of the gifts and lessons learned through life’s occurrences into their daily life for long lasting benefit.

 In order to aid in the healing of trauma, Kathryn provides guidance utilizing both a top down (Cognitive) and bottom up (Somatic) approach. Approaches in treatment that she utilizes include DBT, CPT, Seeking Safety, ACT, mindfulness, meditation, breath work, and healing touch/energy balancing techniques. 

 She utilizes modalities that incorporate the mind, body, and soul. It is her belief that radical transformation occurs by tending to the needs of the mind in the ways we think, the body in the ways we release physical tensions as a result of trauma, and the soul in the way we express and connect to self/others/and higher purpose.  

 Kathryn lives in Southern California with her husband, Michael (Punky, ret SEAL), her mastiff, Hank and her desert tortoise, Gary.  She enjoys hiking, singing, meditation, breathwork, and present moment focus.
