Leah Callahan, LPC, LCMHC, NCC
Leah Callahan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Leah is an Oklahoma native who returned home in the summer of 2023 after living on the East coast as a military spouse for 14 years. Her husband retired from the Marine Corps after 22 years of service. Leah began working in mental health in 2010, and earned her Master’s in Professional Counseling in 2015. She then began practicing in Fayetteville, NC, when her husband was a member of JSOC. She continued working as a clinician in 2019 after relocating to Jacksonville, NC, and they welcomed home two children through a domestic and international adoption. Leah is thrilled to be back in Oklahoma and ready to continue serving military members and their families.
Leah enjoys meeting clients where they currently are, from a holistic and strengths-based approach. As a therapist, Leah draws from several theoretical modalities, such as, EMDR, expressive arts, mindfulness, CBT, self-compassion, and she remains trauma-informed and person centered throughout. Leah has worked with many active-duty military members, retirees, SOF members, as well as their families, on subsequent trauma and stressors including MST, combat related trauma, grief, moral injury, and life transitions.
In Summer 2024, Leah launched her private practice, Callahan Counseling and Consulting, to offer treatment that is goal oriented, tailored to the individual or group, and effective. Leah strives to create an environment that is collaborative, welcoming, and non-judgmental. She approaches therapy with reverence (and a good dose of dark humor) and wants to work with you toward your goals and healing.
When she is not at work, Leah can be found spending time with her family, renovating her house, and cycling on her Peloton. She enjoys hiking, travel, learning, and reading.
