Maddie Vann, LPC
Maddie Vann, LPC, CSAC, RYT500 is a licensed professional counselor located in Williamsburg, VA. Maddie offers telehealth throughout Virginia as well as in-person sessions at Therapy Owls, LLC, (www.therapyowls.com) Maddie is the spouse of a retired SWCC Chief, and also, prior to joining the counseling profession, worked as a journalist and a public relations specialist with a focus on medical and public health systems of care. Currently, Maddie focuses on working with individuals, couples, and families who are healing from addiction, trauma, grief, TBI, and the challenges of transitioning to civilian life after military service or deployments. Maddie has specific training and experience in working with active duty and veteran SF populations and their families, and has worked in an inpatient addiction treatment facility, in-home family therapy, addiction IOP, and now in outpatient private practice. Her approach to treatment is strengths-based and oriented towards helping clients reconnect to their sense of agency, mission and community. She offers modalities including Gottman Method couples counseling, trauma therapies (EMDR, FLASH, CPT, ASSYST for recent traumas), moral injury treatment (Adaptive Disclosure), addiction/recovery therapies, grief counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and nightmare treatment modalities. She is also a yoga teacher apprenticing in yoga therapy training, due to graduate in 2025. Maddie additionally provides addiction, grief and trauma (EMDR or CPT) counseling to select clients, including SOF community members, while they are in residential addiction treatment at The Farley Center in Williamsburg, VA. The Farley Center offers focused treatment services for military, veteran and first responder clients, as well as spouses within these communities.
