Ramsey Goshert, LPC

Ramsey lives and works in Virginia Beach, home to more than half of all Navy SEALs, which has allowed him to build personal and professional relationships with the Naval Special Warfare community. Over the past 10+ years, he has cultivated an understanding of the culture, mindsets, and norms of operators. He has worked with dozens of individuals from the Navy SOF community, many of whom are active and former SEALs. Ramsey has knowledge of the operational structure and training/deployment schedules and how these impact family structure.

Ramsey balances a relaxed and less formal approach while maintaining a direct but empathetic style. He seeks to build trust through understanding the service member’s unique experience while bringing his own knowledge of the commonalities among operators. He is aware of the unique physical/mental health challenges and impact of cumulative strain from training and combat on the SOF community.

Ramsey is a trained CPT provider allowing him to effectively leverage this proven treatment for trauma. He has participated in advanced training in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment) Therapy which is highly successful in a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and marital conflict. For those interested, he is able to integrate Christian faith and Biblical truth with proven, strength-based counseling strategies.
